Marian G. Ferguson, 77, of 24996 State St., Meadville, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at Meadville Medical Center.

Marian was born in Meadville Oct. 9, 1928, a daughter of the late John H. and Hazel V. Battles Acker. On March 23, 1946, Marian married George F. Ferguson; he survives.

A homemaker, Marian was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church and in her earlier years attended Hayfield Township schools.

In addition to her husband, George, of 62 years, Marian is survived by two sons, George L. Ferguson and his wife, Lorraine, of Guys Mills, and John F. Ferguson and his wife, Sara, of Blooming Valley; a daughter, Mary J. Coy and her husband, Alan, of Titusville; six grandchildren, George L. Ferguson and his wife, Becky, Tonya S. Ferguson, Candi S. Esterly and her husband, Eric, Frank J. Ferguson and his wife, Sue, Michele L. Fischer and her husband, Jason, and Tiffany N. Coy; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice Shorts and her husband, Edward, of Saegertown; two brothers, Jim Acker and his wife, Arlene, and Jack Acker and his wife, Phyllis, all of Saegertown; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Moore; and a brother, Kenneth Acker.

Family and friends are invited to call Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home, 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where the funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m., with the Rev. William Peak, pastor of Allida-Smith Wesleyan Church, officiating.

Interment will take place in Acker-Roger Cemetery, Hayfield Township.
