Viola M. Siegrist Mullen

Viola M. Siegrist Mullen, 101, of Mullen Road, Meadville, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at the residence of her daughter, June Peterson.
She was born March 20, 1907, in Santa Paula, Calif., a daughter of Charles and Mary Mosier Siegrist. She married Lloyd H. Mullen Sr. Aug. 5, 1925; he preceded her in death Feb. 23, 1981.
She graduated from Meadville Commercial College and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church since 1937.
She traveled extensively and belonged to many card clubs and craft clubs. She knit lap robes for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, and stocking caps and mittens for Fairmont.
Survivors include four daughters, Connie Durish and her husband, John, Pat Lafferty, June Peterson, and Donna Mullen and her husband, Joe, all of Meadville; two sons, Charlie Mullen and his wife, Donna, of Meadville, and Lloyd Mullen and his wife, Evie, of Jamestown; 15 grandchildren, Pat King, John Durish, Dan Mullen, Dave Mullen, Dale Mullen, Dawn Muntean, Cindy Karns, Keith Peterson, Debbie Porter, Kevin Mullen, Brian Mullen, Jodi Beil, Tom Mullen, Tim Mullen and Tracey Lloyd; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and three special friends, Mabel Porter, and Gavin and Riley Payne, all of Meadville
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister; two brothers; two sons-in-law, Jerry Peterson and Pete (J.R.) Lafferty; and a grandson, Jeffrey Lafferty.
Calling hours are today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Murphy, retired United Methodist minister, officiating.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
