Mary M. Palmiero

Mary M. Palmiero, 94, of Meadville, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Meadville July 21, 1913, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Damico Monteleone. She married Stanislaus Palmiero June 5, 1937, at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church; he preceded her in death June 20, 1988.
A member of St. Mary of Grace Church, she had worked at Talon, with her husband as owner and operator of Sammy’s Tavern and the Marine Bar, and at Vulcan Services.
A very well read and helping woman as well as a woman of spirituality and philosophy, she enjoyed the study of using positive energy in our everyday lives. A favorite saying to her grandchildren was, “Wherever I go, wherever I am, my love will always be with you. I have loved you, my darlings, from the moment you came to me.”
Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Generalovich and her husband, Dr. Brian, of Hermitage; a son, Joe Palmiero and his wife, Linda, of Meadville; four grandchildren, Alyssa Robb and her husband, Sam, of Mt. Lebanon, Dr. Brock Generalovich and his wife, Dr. Stacy, of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Allison Brady and her husband, Tim, of Meadville, and Jon D. Palmiero and his wife, Alicia, of Evans City; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Brady, Luke Generalovich, Sophia Generalovich and Evan Palmiero; many loving nieces and nephews; and good friends, Dr. Ken and Holly Unice of Meadville, Dr. Ron and Kathy Unice of Meadville, and Jack and Mary Hyland of Guys Mills.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Jane Coppola, Joan Randazzo and Sanna Smith; and two brothers, John and Abe Monteleone.
Calling hours are today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, with a Scripture prayer service at 3:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Father Richard Toohey as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the French Creek Community Theater, PO Box 643, Meadville, Pa. 16335.
