Published May 02, 2008 08:48 pm - SHIPPENVILLE — Evelyn Zuck Seigworth Hayes, 87, formerly of Lickingville and Meadville, died Friday, May 2, 2008, in Golden Living Center, Shippenville, where she had resided for the past two years.

SHIPPENVILLE — Evelyn Zuck Seigworth Hayes, 87, formerly of Lickingville and Meadville, died Friday, May 2, 2008, in Golden Living Center, Shippenville, where she had resided for the past two years.
She was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Strobleton, a daughter of Floyd R. and Elizabeth Daum Zuck.
She graduated in 1938 from Farmington High School and then Welsh’s Business College in Oil City.
She worked for Professor B.M. Davis, superintendent of Clarion County Schools. Later, she worked at North Clarion School in various capacities, including the cafeteria, school secretary and school board secretary.
She enjoyed making quilts and even made one for each of her children and grandchildren.
She loved singing and playing the organ, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
She spent winters in St. Cloud, Fla., playing cards, shuffleboard and golf.
She was married June 25, 1941, to Don E. Seigworth, who preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1965. She married Frank Merle Hayes Aug. 26, 1968; he also preceded her in death Aug. 10, 2004.
She lived near Meadville for 35 years and was a member of Littles Corners United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir director and organist.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Waddell and her husband, Jerry, of Bel Air, Md., Karen Weaver and her husband, Raymond, of Marble, and Donna Mushrush and her husband, Kenneth, of Erie; her grandchildren, Patti Jo Beard and Lori Hopkins of Bel Air, Emily Weaver of East Palo Alto, Calif., Rae Ann Faiz of Bloomington, Ind., Andrea Fox of Rouseville and Jordan Mushrush of Erie; and her great-grandchildren, Jake Hopkins and Saleh Faiz. She is also survived by her twin sister, Helen Seigworth and her husband, Norman (Pat), of Lickingville, and their son, Terry Seigworth of Erie; her brother, Gerald Zuck and his wife, Lois, of Shippenville; along with several nieces and nephews. Surviving stepchildren are Harold Hayes and Nora Kay Luzier of Meadville.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Louise Hawk.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Faller Funeral Home Inc. in Fryburg.
The funral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lea Guiney, former pastor of Littles Corners United Methodist church, officiating.
Burial will be in Venus Cemetery following the service.
