A brainstorming and visioning workshop to activate the underutilized spaces currently existing at the Meadville Area Recreation Complex is from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 24 at the Crawford County Career & Technical Center, 860 Thurston Road.
Use the back entrance at the technical center. Signs will be posted to lead participants to a nearby conference room.
The specific spaces that will be discussed during the workshop are both indoor and outdoor areas. The indoor spaces are the ice arena, aquatic center, cafe and main lobby. The outdoor spaces are the front plaza, garden, trails, picnic shelters and skate park.
The purpose of this workshop is to help bring these spaces to life by analyzing and creating plans for the MARC as a community. Residents' contributions and ideas are greatly welcomed.
Organizers promise a fast-paced, engaging and participatory workshop. A light breakfast will be served.
This workshop is facilitated by Steve Davies of Project for Public Spaces Inc. in tribute to his late mother Ellie Davies, whose leadership led to the creation of the MARC.
