This image was an unexpected find for me. I had sat down on the infield at Harbor Creek High School's track in preparation to shoot a low wide angle shot of the mass of runners in the girls 1600 as they rounded the first turn. As I waited for the start I noticed the sun just peaking through the clouds slightly. Then this triple jumper named Jerome Pettis began to warm up right behind me. I snapped off a couple frames and was happy with the picture I was able to make. RICHARD SAYER/Meadville Tribune
