Once again, the folks who brought you Meadville’s blockbuster Halloween Parade will be picking up retired Christmas trees throughout the city.
The Crawford Area Young Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its annual Christmas Tree Pick Up for Sunday beginning at 7 a.m. Trees should be placed curbside on Saturday.
Lights and decorations should be removed, but don’t worry if a bit of tinsel clings to the needles. Artificial trees will not be picked up.
C&J Industries, Meadville Redi-mix, the Downtown Mall, The Country Club and the City of Meadville are partnering with the organization, which performs this service each year to thank the City of Meadville and its residents for their support on CAYCC initiatives including the annual Halloween Parade.
Formed several years ago to replace the Junior Chamber of Commerce in the Crawford County area, the CAYCC’s is an independent organization designed to create a forum of community service, career development and networking opportunities for persons age 21 to 40 throughout all of Crawford County.
The organization meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the offices of Meadville-Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce, 908 Diamond Park, Meadville. Potential members are invited to attend their first meeting for free, according to Membership Chair Tracey Pulito.
