National Fuel customers natural gas bills set to go down 5 percent

MEADVILLE — National Fuel Gas customers will pay a little bit less for natural gas starting Friday.

National Fuel Gas Distribution Corp. has announced a more than 5 percent drop in its gas supply charges effective Friday.

This adjustment will lower the monthly bill of a typical residential customer in northwestern Pennsylvania by $4.13, from $79.73 to $75.60, or 5.2 percent, according to National Fuel.

The downward adjustment is due to lower than projected costs for gas purchased by the company, according to Sandra James, National Fuel’s director of corporate communications.
