Dispose of unwanted prescriptions on Oct. 26

MEADVILLE — Local law enforcement is working with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration to coordinate a National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The agencies coordinate a collaborative effort focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from medicine cabinets.

People may dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications free of charge for destruction by law enforcement officers.

The anonymous service is free and open to the public.

Crawford County

Pennsylvania State Police, 11176 Murray Road, Meadville; Meadville Police Department, 894 Diamond Park; Linesville Police Department, 127 E. Erie St.; Titusville Police Department, 323 N. Franklin St.

Erie County

Pennsylvania State Police, 11088 Route 6, Union City.

Mercer County

Jamestown Pharmacy (Jamestown Police), 121 Liberty St.; Medicine Shoppe (Sandy Lake Police Department),  3289 S. Main St., Sandy Lake.
