Motorist advisories for today

MEADVILLE — Motorists are reminded of potential traffic tie-ups in Saegertown and Titusville today due to inspections of two county-owned bridges.

The Jordan Road Bridge over French Creek in Saegertown will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon while the South Perry Street Bridge over Oil Creek in Titusville will be closed from 1 to 4 p.m.

Crews from the Crawford County and EADS Group, the county’s engineering firm, will carry out today’s inspection.

A similar inspection was done Wednesday to the Mercer Street Bridge over French Creek in Meadville.

Also, traffic on Interstate 79 southbound is restricted to one lane at Exit 141 (Geneva/Cochranton, Route 285) in Crawford County due to construction work on the Route 285 overpass. The lane is expected to reopen on Friday at noon.

A restriction on northbound traffic at the location is lifted; northbound lanes are now open.
