Separate crashes on Crawford County roads today have claimed two lives and injured three young children, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Meadville.
Ryan Merritt, 28, of Saegertown, was killed at 11:16 a.m. when the sport utility vehicle he was driving crashed on Fisher Road, between Limber and Dickson roads, in Woodcock Township.
Three children in Merritt’s vehicle, ages 10, 6 and 3, were injured, according to police. Their identities weren’t released by police because they all are juveniles.
Earlier today, Aaron C. Byers, 34, of Greenville, died when the car he was driving west on Route 322 crashed on a curve near East State Road in South Shenango Township at 1:40 a.m., according to state police.
Byers was killed when he was thrown from the vehicle, state police said.
Just two minutes after the crash, Byers’ disabled car was struck by a state police patrol car, causing minor injuries to the trooper.
