Crawford County under a winter storm warning starting Tuesday night

MEADVILLE — A winter storm that could drop up to 10 inches of snow in fewer that 24 hours could be coming to Crawford County, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

A winter storm warning, which stretches from northwestern Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio, is in effect from Tuesday at 7 p.m. until Wednesday at 5 p.m., according to the NWS. Six to 10 inches of snow is possible, with winds swirling northeast to north at 10 to 20 mph and increasing to 15 to 25 mph by Wednesday morning. Earlier Monday, the NWS issued at winter storm watch, which is no longer in effect.

The snow will begin to fall Tuesday afternoon, but the heaviest snow is expected to arrive between 9 and 11 p.m. across the area from southwest to northeast.
