Sheriff's Office captures five on outstanding warrants

MEADVILLE — Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, along with Meadville Police Department and West Mead Police Department, picked up five people wanted on outstanding warrants from Crawford County Court of Common Pleas.

Arrested on Monday were Jody L. Tatters, Brandy L. Lonyo, Timothy E. Laver and Bruce Brunot. Michael D. Kavchak was apprehended last Friday.

Tatters was arrested at approximately 11 a.m. in West Mead Township. He failed to appear in court after being charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

Tatters fled on foot when sheriff’s office authorities arrived but was captured as he ran out back door. He is lodged in Crawford County jail in Saegertown and awaits a bench warrant hearing.

Lonyo was arrested at approximately 1:45 p.m. by the sheriff’s office, Meadville police and West Mead police. She was wanted for failing to appear in court on charges of possession with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, retail theft, conspiracy, and possession of a controlled substance. Lonyo was also wanted by Cambridge Springs Police Department for felony theft by a unlawful taking.

Lonyo fled out of a City of Meadville residence on foot when authorities arrived. After a brief search, she was captured hiding about a block away from where she fled on foot behind a tree. She is lodged in county jail and awaits a bench warrant hearing.

Laver was arrested at approximately 3 p.m. in West Mead Township by the sheriff’s office and West Mead police. He was wanted for violating his terms of probation in Crawford County on original charges of felony manufacture, delivery or possession with Intent to manufacture drugs.

Laver was found hiding under a bed in an apartment complex. He is lodged in county jail where he awaits a hearing.

Brunot was arrested at approximately 3:30 p.m. by sheriff deputies in Meadville. He was wanted for failing to comply with court-ordered child support. Brunot was transported to county jail and awaits a bench warrant hearing.

Kavchak was arrested on Friday in the City of Meadville. He was wanted for failing to appear in court on a driving under the influence charge. Kavchak was also wanted in Dayton, Ohio, on probation violations and felony burglary charges. He is lodged in county jail, awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
