Body of Pittsburgh man found in Pymatuning Lake

NORTH SHENANGO TOWNSHIP — Emergency response teams on Wednesday afternoon recovered the body of a Pittsburgh man who reportedly jumped off a boat into Pymatuning Lake and failed to resurface Saturday, according to a Pymatuning official.

The body of Lawrence Page, 47, Pittsburgh was located Wednesday at 4:55 p.m. after searches were conducted since Saturday, Pymatuning Park Manager Dan Bickel said.

Bickel said that Page jumped from a pontoon boat on Pymatuning Lake to help a female, but Page didn’t come back up.

Andover (Ohio) Volunteer Fire Department responded first on the scene on Saturday. It was assisted on scene by the Ashtabula County Dive Team and several local departments, including North Shenango and Linesville volunteer fire departments, the Crawford County Scuba Team, Conneaut Lake Area Ambulance Service and STAT MedEvac.

Responders searched the area near Orchard Launch, located by Leach Road, south of the causeway.
