One minor injury reported in accident involving school bus

VERNON TOWNSHIP — One minor injury was reported as the result of a two-vehicle crash involving a small school bus on Semerad Road just east of Route 19 in Crawford Central School District.

Pennsylvania State Police report that a car driven by Thomas E. Lantz Jr., 35, of Cochranton was traveling west on Semerad and the small bus operated by Lucinda M. Brenot, 62, of Cochranton carrying seven passengers ranging in age from 6 to 13 years old was traveling east.

At 7:32 a.m., Lantz was negotiating a right curve in the roadway when his car crossed over the center line and struck the school bus.

The car was towed from the scene; the bus was able to be driven from the scene. According to police, a 13-year-old female passenger on the bus sustained a minor injury.

According to police, seat belts were in use by all.

A citation will be filed against Lantz for failing to drive his vehicle at a safe speed.
