Police probe suspected meth lab

WEST MEAD TOWNSHIP — Pennsylvania State Police, Meadville barracks were on scene at a West Mead Township residence Tuesday investigating what is believed to be a methamphetamine lab.

State police reported no injuries late Tuesday night after what was an alleged explosion at 101 Echnoz Ave. in conjunction with a methamphetamine lab. Officials were seen putting on gas masks and protective suits before entering the residence.

West Mead Volunteer Fire Department and Meadville Ambulance were on scene late Tuesday night as a precaution while the alleged lab was deactivated, police said.

According to WFXP-Fox 66, state police were on the scene since noon Tuesday.

No further information was released as of Tuesday night.
