Party set as park's Blue Streak rolls into 75th year

(Continued)

CONNEAUT LAKE PARK —

You can go

Conneaut Lake Park’s Blue Streak is 75 years old this year — and the ride operators are throwing a party in celebration of the milestone on Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m. The party includes special all-day ride passes — for any ride at the park (including miniature golf) at a reduced price of $5. Those with the specially purchased wrist bands can ride from 1 to 9 p.m. with no additional fee.

You can participate

Conneaut Lake Park’s 75th anniversary Blue Streak birthday party includes a decorated cake contest, and all bakers — amateur or professional — may submit their favorite cake. Cakes will be judged in several categories: Most original, most creative, best tasting and “best cake.” A tent will be erected near the entrance of park for the cake judging contest. Cakes are to be taken to that site by noon on Saturday and the judging will begin at 3 p.m. Prizes will include a $50 Wal-Mart gift card, as well as passes to the park.
