Google search highlights Meadville history

MEADVILLE — Google is celebrating the 132nd birthday of Gideon Sundback today. Sundback, who perfected the modern zipper and designed the machines to make zippers, has a special place in Meadville history. Not only is he buried here in Greendale Cemetery, he brought the zipper business here. Talon Inc. employed generations of area residents producing zippers and the skilled machinists trained there have gone on to build the area into one of the nation’s premiere spots for the tool and die industry.
