Little bit of snow expected this coming week

MEADVILLE — The weather for midweek is calling for — wait for it — snow.

Some of the white stuff is expected to fall then, but don’t despair if you’re not ready for winter. The prediction thus far is for a rain and snow mix that won’t stick to the ground.

The weather was expected to have turned much colder Saturday night and into today with patchy frost possible before 8 a.m. Expect today to be cloudy with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Rain will move into the region Monday and Tuesday with a rain and snow mix possible each morning on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, according to John Stehlin, a meteorologist with WICU-TV in Erie, the television station that provides the Tribune’s weather forecasts.

“You will see snow in the forecast, nothing that should stick to the ground, just wet snowflakes mixed with rain,” Stehlin said.

Thursday night, when many Crawford County communities will hold trick-or-treat, there is a chance of snow showers predicted at this point. However, any snow isn’t expected until around 10 p.m., Stehlin said. Those area communities that are holding trick-or-treat night Thursday will finish by 7:30.
