Garage fire sends numerous departments to Vernon Township

VERNON TOWNSHIP — A garage fire southwest of Meadville has led to numerous area fire departments being called to the scene, according to emergency scanner transmissions.

The fire, reported a little before 6 p.m., is at 12674 Route 98, between Van Horne Road and Cooper Road, according to county emergency services. Multiple vehicles are in the garage, according to scanner reports.

West Mead 2, Conneaut Lake Park, Summit Township, Hayfield Township, Vernon Central and Vernon Township fire departments were called to the scene.
