No property tax increase proposed for City of Meadville

MEADVILLE — A 2014 budget that holds the current line on city property taxes is being presented to Meadville City Council during its monthly study session this afternoon by City Manager Joe Chriest and Finance Director Tim Groves.

The current millage rate is 20.42 mills. On a property with the city’s median assessed value of $25,000, the owner would continue to pay an annual property tax bill of $510.50.

A schedule of future public hearings on the budget will be detailed in Thursday’s Tribune. The budget must be in place no later than Dec. 31.
