Ice fishing tourney hopes weather cooperates

The Canadohta Lake Ice Fishing Tournament is scheduled for Feb. 9 with a make-up date of Feb. 23.

The tournament runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. No fishing is allowed before 7 a.m. Cash prizes will be awarded at 4:30 p.m. for longest fish in each category — musky, northern pike, walleye, crappie and perch.

Tickets, which cost $15, may be purchased at Timberland Bait Shop, 36320 Dutch Hill Road, Union City, prior to or the morning of Feb. 9.

There will also be a 50/50 during the event. Each ticket costs $1. The 50/50 money mostly goes toward lunch, which is served around noon.

If the Canadohta Lake tournament occurs on Feb. 9, there will also be at tournament at Conneaut Lake on Feb. 23, weather permitting.
