Knife fight leaves one in hospital, other in jail

MEADVILLE — One Meadville man remains hospitalized and another remains jailed following a knife fight late Thursday afternoon at a home in the city.

Richard G. Kolcun, 53, has been charged by Meadville Police with one count of aggravated assault and one count simple assault for allegedly stabbing William Bonus, 42, in the chest with a knife at a home at 831 Liberty St. Police said both men were fighting with knives.

Bonus is in satisfactory condition at Meadville Medical Center with a single stab wound to the upper torso.

Kolcun is lodged in the Crawford County jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.
