Saegertown woman dies after crash on Baldwin Street Extension

WEST MEAD TOWNSHIP — A Saegertown woman died Friday afternoon following a one-vehicle roll-over crash in West Mead Township.

Lorrie Ann Nichols, 56, died after her vehicle for unknown reasons went off Baldwin Street Extension, hit a culvert pipe, a tree and rolled over before coming to rest on its roof in a ditch around 4 p.m., according to Crawford County Coroner Scott Schell, who pronounced her deceased shortly before 5 p.m.

Nichols, who was wearing a seat belt, died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck, Schell said.

West Mead 2 Volunteer Fire Department, West Mead Police Department and Meadville Ambulance were among those who assisted on the scene.
