Meadville Tribune

MEADVILLE — The Center for Family Services Inc., a United Way agency, will once again be able to provide shoes and socks for children in the Meadville area thanks to the generosity of Samuel Stern and others from the Meadville area who provided charitable trusts in their wills.

Any family with a zip code of 16335 and in need of shoes and socks for children may apply. Children between the ages of 3 and 18 years old are eligible. Applications are taken at the Center for Family Services (CFS), 213 W. Center St., Meadville, starting Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and continuing daily until vouchers are gone.

Parents must bring each child’s birth certificate and proof of address (such as a utility bill) or register at www.compass.state.pa.us and print a household verification from the Department of Public Welfare with each child’s address and birth date listed.

Each child will receive a voucher good for one pair of tennis shoes and one package of socks. Vouchers may be redeemed at the Meadville Kmart.
