VERNON TOWNSHIP —
Without comment, Crawford Central School Board unanimously accepted all recommendations set forth in a fact-finding report issued by the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board in connection with contract negotiations between the school district and Crawford Central Educational Support Professional Association.
In negotiations with the district for more than 2 1/2 years, the union’s 120 members have continued to work without a contract since June 2011.
The school board cast its vote during its monthly meeting Monday night after a warning from Carl Moore, the district’s attorney, that the fact-finder report is not a public record until after votes have been taken by both the board and the union and therefore no public comment was allowed. An hour-long executive session to discuss issues including personnel preceded the board’s 5:30 p.m. public meeting.
After the meeting, CCESPA Vice President Elaine Hoke and Roger Bean, a member of the union negotiating team, told the Tribune — without additional comment — that union members will gather to cast their votes on accepting the fact-finding report’s recommendations Friday at 10 a.m.
