A list of the Top 20 projects in the Titusville Trail Town project developed by Mackin Engineering Co. and McCollom Development Strategies in conjunction with the Titusville Redevelopment Authority and the Titusville community.
1 Establish a Trail Town Action Team (TTAT) to lead, direct, delegate, and promote implementation of recommendations and coordinate with existing agencies.
2 Select a Trail Town Action Team liaison to communicate and cooperate with supporting agencies.
3 As part of the Oil Region Heritage, promote Titusville as a Trail Town and a bike-friendly community.
4 Coordinate intended “message” on website with each of the agencies and web host to “speak in one voice.”
5 Use website to promote outdoor activity, Trail Town atmosphere, bike-friendly community.
6 Promote walking and bicycling safety awareness programs with local schools and law enforcement.
7 Marketing with one voice with Oil Region Alliance, Crawford County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Titusville Chamber of Commerce.
8 Create hub and spoke itineraries to include in-town and near-town attractions.
Business Improvements/Business Attraction
9 Business hours need to be expanded including on weekends.
10 Buildng facade improvements and night lighting improvements./
11 Have community clean up projects — particularly around trail and community bike route; Earth Day; prior to marathon and other large events.
12 Coordinate with Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) Erie to assist Titusville businesses.
Infrastructure & Capital Construction Projects
13 Way-finding signs for motorists with consistent, clear signage with signs pointing to trail access and parking.
14 Way-finding signs for trail users with bike route signs from trail to town and through town as a route system.
15 Implement sidewalk, crossing, traffic calming and accessible route recommendations.
16 Construct the Trail-to-Town Bike Lane.
17 Information kiosks for trail users with business directory, services and events, map, contact information, Wi-Fi service.
18 Beautification of general appearance of business district.
19 Educate all businesses, community organizations and municipal departments on benefits of trail towns.
20 Promote daily bicycling and walking in the community.
