Tornado warning issued for Crawford County

A tornado warning has been issued for Crawford County, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

The warning is in effect until 9 p.m. At 8:20 p.m., National Weather Service’s Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Linesville. The tornado will otherwise remain over mainly rural areas of Crawford County.

When a tornado warning is issued based on Doppler radar, it means a strong rotation has been detected in the storm. A tornado may already be on the ground or is expected to develop shortly, NWS reports.

NWS suggests Crawford County residents move indoors and to the lowest level of the building and stay away from windows. If driving, do not seek shelter under a highway overpass.
