CUSSEWAGO TOWNSHIP —
Pennsylvania State Police released the identities of four drivers involved in a series of collisions on Interstate 79 as they approached the northbound tractor-trailer incidents that closed the highway earlier this week.
Drivers Tashan B. Mark, 20, of Brookville and John P. Weixlmann, 54, of Orchard Park, N.Y., were attempting to slow as they approached the crash that occurred at approximately 1:04 p.m. in Cussewago Township, around mile marker 160, when Mark’s vehicle began to spin, according to state police.
At that point, Dustin D. Schoelier, 23, of Manchester, N.H., reportedly passed Weixlmann on the west berm and struck Mark’s vehicle, causing it to spin and face southbound. Weixlmann’s vehicle collided head-on with Mark’s before being hit from behind by driver Issah Idi, 49, of Montreal, Quebec City, Canada, police said.
Hayfield Fire Department and Goodbans Towing assisted on scene.
No injuries were reported. State police have not released details as to whether any drivers will be charged or the extent to which their vehicles were damaged.
The incident was part of two crash sites on I-79 at that time, involving numerous vehicles that included five tractor-trailer trucks. Other stories on the incidents were in the Tribune on Wednesday and Thursday.
The investigating officer was unavailable for comment by press time.
