Crawford Area Scholarships available

MEADVILLE — Application packets for the 2012 Crawford Area Scholarships Inc. awards have been distributed and are available from the principal or counselor’s offices of Crawford County high schools. Crawford Area Scholarships Inc. will award four merit-based grants of $1,000 each to graduating seniors from Crawford County schools. For more details, students may check with their counselor. Application packets for all announced scholarships may also be downloaded at crawfordscholarships.org.

Students are encouraged to ask for the application packets now, review the application requirements carefully and be certain the applications are filled out completely so they may submit them on time.

There are other scholarships also available through Crawford Area Scholarships Inc. Partner Program. These scholarships are the first annual Roff School Scholarship, and the Kardosh-Wensel Scholarship.

Applications for all scholarships must be received by April 15.

The Roff School Scholarship will award a $1000 merit-based scholarship to a graduating senior in Crawford County entering the field of education. More information on this scholarship can be found at counselors’ offices by writing to Roff School Tavern, 13388 Leslie Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335; or downloaded at crawfordscholarships.org.

The Kardosh-Wensel scholarships are merit-based and awarded to three eligible students graduating from Conneaut Valley High School in 2012. Each student selected will receive a $2,000 scholarship. The scholarships have been funded through private donations and commemorate members of the Alice Kardosh and Joyce Wensel families for their long-standing involvement in teaching and administration in school districts within both Crawford and Erie Counties.

For more information on these scholarships, go to the Conneaut Valley counselors office or downloaded it at crawfordscholarships.org.

Crawford Area Scholarships Inc. is an affiliate of the national Dollars for Scholars program. Through this affiliation, students receiving any of these awards may also be eligible for additional funding if the college the student has chosen to attend is one of more than 450 Collegiate Partners of Crawford Area Scholarships, Inc. This additional funding may match all or part of the initial scholarship award. Additional information is available at crawfordscholarships.org.
