CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS — A Cambridge Springs man was killed in a car crash Monday night after being ejected from his vehicle near Route 19.

Corey E. Conrad, 34, was traveling north on Route 19 when his vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons at approximately 9:40 p.m., police said.

The vehicle reportedly struck a guardrail and spun counter-clockwise before striking a mailbox and embankment, which sent the car airborne. The vehicle then struck two trees and came to rest on its roof.

Conrad was ejected from the vehicle, supposedly upon its initial impact around the embankment, according to Crawford County Coroner, Scott Schell.

He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, police said.

Schell pronounced Conrad dead at the scene at approximately 10:25 p.m., citing blunt force trauma to the head as the cause of death.

Cambridge Area Volunteer Ambulance Service, Meadville Ambulance Service, Venango Volunteer Fire Department and Goodban’s Towing assisted on scene.
