Santa Claus is coming to town by train

MEADVILLE — Santa Claus will visit Meadville today on board a Santa Special Western New York & Pennsylvania Railroad train. He is expected to arrive around 5 p.m. along the Water Street Extension at Pomona Park across the street from the Alco locomotive and the Erie-Lackawanna caboose on display by the French Creek Valley Railroad Historical Society.

Santa will greet children and hand out candy. Pomona Park can be reached using an exit from the French Creek Parkway just a few car lengths beyond the exit for Mercer Street. Access is only available from the west side of the highway. This event is free and open to the public.

Santa’s arrival is scheduled for 5 p.m., or 1700 hrs on railroad time. Santa, however, could be delayed a bit by greeting children along the way.
