SOUTH SHENANGO TOWNSHIP — A one-vehicle crash Wednesday night in South Shenango Township killed a Hartstown woman who was ejected from her vehicle which landed on her, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Meadville.

Jane Zazado, 58, was traveling west on Westford Road when her sport utility vehicle crashed around 9:10 p.m., police said. The vehicle went off the north side of the road, struck a culvert and then rolled several times, ejecting Zazado in the process. She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, police said.

Zazado landed on the roadway with the vehicle landing on top of her, police said.

Zazado was pronounced dead at the scene by Scott Schell, deputy Crawford County coroner. Her death was ruled accidental due to traumatic asphyxiation.

Jamestown and North Shenango Township volunteer fire departments and Jamestown Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
