Artist, mural honored for capturing Meadville's history She paid tribute to Barboni’s family for their financial support which made the project possible as well as that of contributions from Dad’s Pet Foods, the William Grassinger Family, which owns Hovis’; Associated Contractors and ACE Contractor Center. Also cited for their assistance were John Taylor and Jonathan Miller.
Linda Richards, sister of the late Barboni, expressed appreciation on behalf of the family for the memorial to her sister and noted her sister introduced them to all “different types of art.” Geffen said she spoke with Breene about wanting to do something community based and “Berry ran with the project.” “I’m proud to be part of it,” said Breene. However, Breene isn’t ready to rest on her laurels. She is already planning another mural for downtown Meadville. It will be on the side of the @thebank building and will feature scenes of theater-goers from over the years when they attended events at the former Park Theatre, once housed in that building. She is looking forward to starting to design that mural.
