WEST MEAD TOWNSHIP — Some exhibitors approaching Crawford County Fairgrounds for Saturday morning check-in will be taking new routes through the Crawford County Fairgrounds to their destination.
All exhibitors are encouraged to pick up their exhibitor numbers in advance to ease the check-in process. The fair office will be open today between 2 and 8 p.m. and Saturday during the exhibitor check-in period, which will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 11 a.m.
In the interest of eliminating the traffic congestion that has traditionally plagued the area surrounding the home-produced products and needlecraft exhibition, traffic bound for Exhibit Building 1 will enter the fairgrounds from Dickson Road at Gate 1. One-way traffic will proceed from the gate to the area behind Exhibit Building 1, where a tent and workers await.
Exhibitors will leave their vehicles, place their exhibits on a table inside the tent and receive a receipt. At that point, vehicles must be moved away from the exhibit buildings. After parking away from the buildings, exhibitors will return to the tent, pick up their exhibits and then enter Exhibit Building 1 to enter their exhibits in the appropriate departments.
Exhibitors bringing exhibits including photography and crafts to nearby buildings must park their vehicles away from the area and carry their exhibits to the appropriate building.
Exhibitors bringing animals to the species barns are to enter through Gate 3, at the intersection of Leslie and Hamilton roads. One-way traffic will proceed past the buildings and exit the fairgrounds at Gate 2, at the intersection of Leslie and Dickson roads.
