Crawford County Democratic and Republican party leader are being asked by the county’s Elections Office to submit names to fill unexpired terms on four boards.
Melanie Mushrush, county elections director, said Thursday she’s asked party leaders to submit the names of candidates by Sept. 14 to fill unexpired terms on the Crawford Central and Conneaut school boards, Rockdale Township supervisors’ board and Titusville City Council.
Each of the boards may appoint replacements to serve out the rest of 2009, Mushrush said. Names are being sought from the parties to appear on the Nov. 3 ballot to fill out the remaining years of each term.
Vacancies were recreated by resignations and one death.
Lee Livingston resigned as a representative from the Conneaut School Board’s Region 1 June 1. Cheryl Krachkowski was appointed June 10 by the Conneaut School Board to fill the Region 1 seat vacated by Livingston. There are two years remaining on the four-year term.
Christine Lazusky resigned from the Crawford Central School Board Monday. There are two years remaining on her four-year term.
Esther Smith resigned from Titusville City Council, effective May 26. Titusville City Council appointed Jay Reese, who is on the Nov. 3 ballot for a four-year term, to serve through the end of the 2009. There are two years remaining on Smith’s four-year term.
Robert Marzka, a Rockdale Township supervisor, died May 22. There are four years remaining on the six-year term Marzka was serving.
