BORAT NOT FOR FAINT-HEARTED

Controversy can sometimes be the best form of advertisement. The film “Borat” is certainly proving that by taking the box office by storm. Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen plays Borat Sagdiyev, a journalist from Kazakstan who travels to the U.S. to make a documentary about Western life. His obscure, and many times hilarious, manner of speaking creates very interesting scenarios right across the “US and A.” The Kazakstan government has publicly denounced the film and many of the people that were part of the ’documentary’ are now up in arms after finding out that they were actually just pawns in his comedic game. If you are easily offended, steer clear of this movie. But if you are looking for a few good laughs, then check out “Borat.” — CHRIS CURRY

OX DOES NOT DISAPPOINT

Canadian indie band Ox has finally returned with its second LP, “American Lo Fi.” Released in October, the album does not disappoint. Gritty, authentic road tunes like the opening track, “Miss Idaho,” or “El Camino Pt. 2,” set this album apart and immediately grab the listener. It’s soulful, passionate — at times a little lonely, too; these guys are multi-dimensional — the album takes the listener along on the journey Ox has been traveling since the release of its first disc in 2003. “1913” is another standout track. FAMILY GUY VOLUME FOUR RELEASED

The animated comedy that crosses the lines that “The Simpsons” never even considered has just released a new box set. “Family Guy: Volume Four” is jam packed with 14 episodes from the fourth season that follow all of the hilarious journeys of the characters we have come to love. Peter, Quagmire, Cleveland, Meg, Brian, Lois and Stewie are all back in this collection and their antics are even more extreme. Memorable episodes include ones in which the bachelor of the century, Quagmire, finally settles down and gets married as well as Brian, the talking dog, going back to college. It is a three-disc set with more than 40 deleted scenes and commentaries from the creators on every episode. “Family Guy” fans will absolutely love this box set and it might cause a few more people to jump on the fan bandwagon. — CHRIS CURRY
