’WEATHERMAN’ RENTAL
A smile for the camera doesn’t necessarily mean a happy weatherman the rest of the time. Nicholas Cage stars as David Spritz, a weatherman at the top of his career, in “The Weatherman.” Although his professional life is soaring, his personal life is crumbling around him. Cage plays the part to a tee and is accompanied by an equally stunning performance from Michael Caine as his father. Although the movie is serious in nature, there are many moments of pure hilarity, mostly surrounding Spritz and the dark rain cloud that seems to follow him around. A broken marriage, kids that he just can’t seem to connect with and a father with incredibly high expectations are just a few of the things Spritz has to deal with out of the spotlight. Chilling imagery and plot lines coupled with dark humor make this a worthwhile rental.
