AC JAZZ: The Allegheny College Jazz Band, under the direction of Ronald Stitt, performs a free concert in the college’s Campus Center lobby on Nov. 10 at 3:15 p.m. The band will perform a variety of music representing jazz styles from the Big Band Era to contemporary stylings. The program will include Bill Potts’ ‘Big Swing Face,’ Glenn Miller’s ‘String of Pearls,’ and Doc Severinsen’s ‘Begin the Beguine,’ among other selections. Allegheny College senior Breana Gallagher is the featured soloist, singing Cole Porter’s ‘’S Wonderful’ and Manning Sherwin’s ‘A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square.’
KALEIDO: The group is on tour this fall, bringing their energetic pop rock sound to the masses. The tour makes a stop in Meadville at the Voodoo Brewery, 215 Arch St., on Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. with special guets Shinobi Ninja. Kaleido just finished a summer full of music festivals, including dates on the Van’s Warped Tour and the Rockstar Uproar Festival.
THE HOPPERS: Presenting gospel music, the band will be in concert Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville. The Hoppers have performed throughout the U.S. as well as Israel, Europe and Africa. The group recently was inducted in to the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. MOSTLY BRASS BAND: Performs Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. at the Venango Museum of Art, Science and Industry, 270 Seneca St., Oil City.
