Thunder in the City, the fifth annual free classic car and bike show sponsored by Meadville-Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce, swings into its second and final day in downtown Meadville today with a classic car show at Diamond Park beginning at 8 a.m. and a motorcycle and Corvette parade arriving downtown via Park Avenue between 10:30 and 11 a.m.
Drivers should think of the downtown business district as a giant corral, with traffic flowing along and outside the perimeter streets and closed down inside. Today, the Thunder corral will be bounded by Arch, Market, Walnut and Liberty streets — all of which will remain open to traffic, according to Meadville Police Department Acting Chief Tom Liscinski.
Vendors are set up along Chestnut Street from Diamond Park to Market Street and along Park Avenue near Chestnut Street between Clinton Court and West Cherry Alley.
Lower Chestnut between Market and Water streets will remain open to traffic throughout the weekend.
