Diamond Park series continues tonight with Matt Texter

MEADVILLE — The Meadville Council on the Arts’ Downtown Meadville Summer Concert Series has reached its midpoint with a concert by Matt Texter and the Pennsylvania Two tonight at 7 p.m. in Meadville’s Diamond Park.

The concert is presented free of charge thanks to concert sponsors Fine Print and George’s Jewelry and series sponsor Bush Investment Group.

Born into a long line of farmers, steel workers and preachers, Texter specializes in traditional folk and Americana forms of music by playing the guitar, harmonica and banjo. He is a performing songwriter, poet and an artist.

Texter has recorded and self-released a number of albums, including “Hangin’ On,” “Take The Back Roads,” “Seems Like Forever,” with Micah Dunn, “Barstools and Church Pews” and his most recent, “Live As Usual” with lead guitarist/sideman, Jim Zahniser. More information about Texter can be found at matttexter.bandcamp.com.

The Council on the Arts recommends that attendees bring a chair or blanket for maximum comfort. There will be family-friendly activities during the concert. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 356 Chestnut St.
