MEADVILLE — CLASSES

SENSORY PAINTING CLASS: Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at Active Aging Inc. in the Lew Davies Community Building, 1034 Park Ave., Meadville. Certified and degreed artist Alicia Hilton conducts the class, which is opened to Crawford County seniors, aged 60 and older. Supplies will be provided. Class size is limited. MEADVILLE COUNCIL ON THE ARTS: Offering numerous workshops at the Meadville Market House — a kids’ clay class, ‘Just Contain It!’ taught by Vickie Clark on Nov. 13 and 20 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.; ‘Zentangles for Kids’ taught by Mike Saletra on Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To register: Call 336-5051 or email artscouncil@zoominternet.net.

ARTS FOR EVERYONE: WEEKLY EVENT UPDATE

CAROUSEL CARVING DEMONSTRATIONS: Join carousel artist George P. Nowack for a series of demonstrations in the art of carving carousel animals as he recreates an exact replica of the Dentzell Lion, which rode the carousel at Conneaut Lake Park from 1910 until the 1980’s. Also, plan to attend the formal unveiling of the lion next spring at the Red Barn Gallery & Studio, 12810 Foust Road, Conneaut Lake. MEADVILLE’S HISTORIC MARKET HOUSE: View the newest autumn creations by A4E artists now on exhibit at the gallery located on the first floor of the Meadville Market House, 910 Market St. Selections include works by more than 20 A4E participating artists, including hand-spun weavings of Judy Hanninen, crystal glass sculptures by Becky Schellhaas, and the most recent creations by Jan Werneth, Terry Werneth and Carolyn Nowack. Also included are works by the newest A4E artist, Don O’Day, the fabric art of Cheree Frizzell and hand-carved carousel animals by G. Nowack. Hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

RALPH MILLER JEWELERS AND GALLERY: The next Gallery Tour Night is Dec. 6 in association with the annual Erie’s Downtown D’Lights Event. Now on exhibit is the ‘Colors Of The Seasons 3,’ featuring recent works by RMJ artists Carrie and Liza Magee, Sally Griffin, Janice and Daniel Niebauer; ‘Four Seasons’ ceramics by Greg Lee Carlson of Palm Springs, Calif.; new oil paintings by Diane Wentzel Pierce; sculptured eagles by Russ Banks; watercolors by Sally Griffin; and featured works by ‘Art4Everyone’ artists Carolyn Nowack, Terry Werneth, Jan Werneth, Victoria Norvaisa, Don Valentine and E.
