Police identify three killed in crash on Interstate 79

Two women, one man are the victims

MERCER — The identities of the three persons killed in a two-car crash  on Interstate 79 in northern Mercer County Friday afternoon have been released by Pennsylvania State Police at Mercer.

Deceased are Susan L. Thomas, 54, and Mary G. Carmody, both of Sewickley and Robert J. Neubert II, 62, of Amherst, N.Y.

The three were killed when Neubert’s southbound auto crossed through median near Milepost 135 in Deer Creek Township, Mercer County, and went into the northbound lanes,  state police said. Neubert’s car collided nearly head on with a northbound auto driven by Thomas, according to state police. Carmody was a passenger in Thomas’ car, state police said.
