With as much as 16 inches of snow forecast in some spots, the National Weather Service has put Crawford County and much of northwest Pennsylvania under a winter storm warning starting at noon today and running through 4 a.m. Thursday.
Six to nine inches are expected in western Crawford and Erie counties with about a foot anticipated in the eastern section of both counties, according to the National Weather Service. As much as 16 inches is expected in areas of higher terrain across the region.
Most of the accumulation is expected between this afternoon and Wednesday morning.
Wind is expected to increase tonight into Wednesday to as high as 20 mph with gusts of 30 mph near Lake Erie.
Visibility is expected to decrease to below a quarter of a mile at times.
Temperatures are expected to stay in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
