Panthers win PIAA gold

HERSHEY — Crawford County came away winners Saturday afternoon at the PIAA state cross country meet at Hershey Park.

The Saegertown boys cross country team captured the PIAA Class AA state title, while Maplewood’s Jeremy Parsons finished second overall.

The Panthers finished with 60 points. Masterman was second (93) followed by Northern Potter (152) and District 10 foe Mercyhurst Prep (199).

Morgan Schenberg paced the Panthers. He finished 14th overall with a time of 17:01. Brendon Barclay was next for Saegertown in 18th place. Also earning a medal for the Panthers was sophomore Brad Amy with a 25th place finish in 17:16.

Parsons finished with a time of 16:25. He avenged his loss to Mercyhurst Prep’s Sebastian Curtin, who finished third with a time of 16:33. The Class A champion was Griffin Molino of South Williamsport with a time of 15:54.
