NEW LOCAL: Man jailed, woman injured in alleged West Mead meth lab incident

WEST MEAD TOWNSHIP — A Cambridge Springs man remains jailed on multiple Pennsylvania State Police charges including of production of methamphetamine, arson and risking a catastrophe in connection with a meth lab in West Mead Township.

Melvin Shane Beachy, 37, of Cambridge Springs, is being held in the Crawford County jail in lieu of $75,000 bond in connection with a cladestine meth lab discovered inside a home on Echnoz Avenue Tuesday. Beachy was arraigned late Tuesday afternoon on the charges.

There was a small fire/explosion on Tuesday as a direct result of the lab that injured Hannah Turner, 29, according to police. Turner was released after treatmenat Meadville Medical Center, according to a nursing supervisor.
