Head-on crash claims two lives in Venango County

Franklin area auto dealership head is killed

FRANKLIN — A two-vehicle crash in Venango County this afternoon claimed the lives of two men, one of whom was a prominent area businessman, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Franklin.

Killed in the 1:46 p.m. crash were Wilfred H. Guth, 75, of Franklin, and William C. Forrester, 66, of Mercer, state police said.

Police said the men were driving on Route 965 in Mineral Township, Venango County, when their vehicles hit head-on on a curve.

Guth was president of Allegheny Toyota of Franklin, an auto dealership, state police confirmed Sunday night.
