Flash flood warning, severe thunderstorm watch issued

Meadville Tribune

— A flash flood warning that lasts until 10 p.m. today has been issued for Crawford and Erie counties by the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

Additionally, the storm which prompted a tornado warning has moved out of the warned area, according to the NWS. However, a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. tonight.

The NWS doppler radar indicates thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across northwest Pennsylvania. Torrential rainfall is falling with storms over Edinboro to Cambridge Springs and extending west to Ohio line. Excessive rainfall over saturated ground cover will lead to enhanced runoff and result in flash flooding.

Locations expected to be impacted include Meadville, Cambridge Springs, Edinboro, Union City, Waterford and Erie.
