Police: Somebody swiped a $1,000 bill

SHARON, Mercer County — SHARON, Mercer County — If you encounter a person attempting to pass or sell a $1,000 bill, call the Sharon Police Department immediately at (724) 983-3210.

The bill, a rare item that has not been minted since the 1940s, was among a significant amount of U.S. currency including a $500 bill taken from a Sharon residence in the 200 block of Smith Avenue sometime between April 1 and today.

Anyone with information about this theft or who encounters a subject attempting to pass or sell a $1,000 bill is urged to call the Sharon police at (724) 983-3210.
