Police name suspect in this morning's drive-by shooting

Suspect to be arraigned later today

MEADVILLE — One man is in custody for an alleged drive-by shooting in Meadville early this morning, according to Meadville Police Department.

Rashon Lamar Jones, 26, is in custody in connection with the shooting at 504 Randolph St. that happened at 4:42 a.m., according to a news release from Meadville Police Department.

There were no injuries in the pre-dawn incident, but police allege shots were fired into the home through the front door. Police allege Jones was involved in an altercation at the home prior to the shots fired call.

Jones is scheduled to be arraigned later today on a felony charge of  discharging a firearm into an occupied structure; four misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment; one misdemeanor count of simple assault and a summary count of discharging a firearm in the city, according to police.
